Brent, Margaret
( 1600, Gloucestershire, Inglaterra–1669/71, cond. de Westmoreland, Va.).

Propietaria colonial inglesa en América del Norte. Llegó a Maryland en 1638 y obtuvo una patente por 70 acres (28 ha), con lo que fue la primera mujer en tener tierras a su nombre en la colonia. En 1657 se contaba entre los terratenientes más grandes de la colonia. En un conflicto fronterizo con Virginia, ocurrido en 1646, organizó un grupo de voluntarios armados en apoyo del gobernador de la colonia de Maryland, Leonard Calvert. Al morir este, en 1647, fue su albacea y resolvió un conflicto con los soldados, por pagos pendientes, que casi había ocasionado una guerra civil.
